You need to talk to me (client), early if you wish to pick another track OR you could pick alternative tracks individually.
LATEST assignment will posted on the BLOG.
1. Create a group shared CLOUD folder - this is where you can share all documentation.
a. Come up with a production group name (You could use first letter of each members name to come up with this).
b. Come up with a company logo (do not use class time for this)
2. Try to work professionally but also be flexible and willing in your approach e.g. good communication, meeting time frames and getting feedback from client (me). Find or use the professional templates.

3. Try to ask for guidance and deal with rising issues using your own initiative. Learn from your mistakes.
4. PICK one of the GIVEN tracks provided - Professional Media people do not pick their own tracks.
5. Make sure you delete ALL guidelines on the planning documents (templates).
6. College has a limited amount of cameras and mobile phone filming accessories. These need to be pre-booked via Media Technician (booking form). If you plan to use mobile phones, spend some time testing compatibility with college computers.
7. Ideally shooting should be scheduled OUT OF CLASS TIME and ideally of site. If you wish to SHOOT in class time you will have to get a ON SITE FILMING FORM signed by me.
8. Plan to shoot alternative shots, scenarios so you all have slightly different versions of the same video, when editing. A professional Director does this !!!!
9. Use Premiere Pro to edit video (remember you all need to edit your own version with the material filmed).

- Locate and listen to the audio track you have decided to create a music video for. Write a short individual response to the track describing how you feel the track covers all of the following elements :
- Length - Minimum 2 minutes and Maximum 4 minutes
- Pace - Discuss main structure. Are you going to keep slow paced or fast or vary it between he track?
- Meaning - What meaning do you want your audience to get?. Some things to consider - Lyric Interpretation, Illustrative MV Style, Interpretative MV Style (or combining these), themes/subject matter, mood, narrative, music genre conventions, intertextuality.
- Imagery - Main content of the MV e.g. dance routines, setting, characters, props etc
- Semiotics - refer to reading or

Undertake some research and use the knowledge gained so far e.g. Purpose, techniques, styles and conventions of MVs. For your group PROPOSAL, you will have to undertake fuller research for the group PROPOSAL. At this stage, you could produce a SLIDESHOW covering the essential information (music, genre, style...). Find your section in the RESEARCHING YOUR MEDIA PRODUCTION , create a document covering that section and then copy and paste this into the group PROPOSAL.
You need to consider LEGAL & ETHICAL issues e.g. youtube content (see brief
links). It is also important you ORGANISE you documentation > TITLE PAGE,

ONE person's responsibility to type/present this information after your group
discussion. Remember - PLANNING DOCUMENTS need to be equally shared
between group members.
4. CONTINGENCY PLAN - Have a discussion and then record your plan.
5. TREATMENT - What an audience will hear and see on the screen.
6. STORYBOARD - Template. You can use STICK MAN (no need to be a great
drawer). Make characters distinctive e.g. add costume (hat, glasses etc). Print this off
as A3, so it easier to draw and add visual information. RESCAN this for electronic
submission.

7. SHOOTING SCHEDULE - Example. This needs to account for all the shots you plan
to shoot, where and in what order. Remember - Try to cover key actions in different
frame shots starting with wide to close shots. When shooting different angles make sure you consider the 30 degree rule and 180 degree rule. Use appropriate shots that are conventional and do convey the message you are trying to give.

FILMING TIPS
1. If you are shooting on your mobiles instead of using college equipment. Make sure you
shoot in LANDSCAPE mode not PORTRAIT. Ensure shots are in focus.

2. Careful with executing shots - avoid zooms, shakes, over/underexposure, frame bombers,
practice camera movements and 'dead space'. Make sure framing is tight
